The Launch of the Xbox 360

On the 22nd of November, 2005 the Xbox 360 gaming console was released within Canada and the United States. On the 2nd of December, 2005, the Xbox 360 gaming console was released within Europe and on the 10th of December, 2005 the Xbox 360 gaming console was released within Japan. Later, the Xbox 360 gaming console was launched within Mexico, Malaysia, South Korea, Colombia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Taiwan, South Africa, New Zealand, India, Chile, Poland, Brazil, Russia and the Czech Republic. There were other official launches announced by Microsoft within Slovakia, Hungary as well as the Philippines. During the Xbox 360’s first year on the market, the Xbox 360 was able to be launched within thirty six countries, which was more countries than any other console had launched within a single year. Because of the Xbox’s early launch, it had a total of one year ahead of both of its competitors, Nintendo’s Wii and the Playstation 3 by Sony.

Retail Configurations

The Xbox 360 gaming console is currently available within three different standard variants; the Premium Xbox 360, the Arcade Xbox 360 and the Elite Xbox 360. Not to mention a discontinued SKU, the Core Xbox 360 which was replaced by the Arcade Xbox 360 during the month of October, 2007.

At the first launch, the Xbox 360 gaming console was available in two different configurations: the Premium Xbox 360 package was priced at three hundred and ninety nine dollars, and the Core Xbox 360 was price at two hundred and ninety nine dollars. The Premium Xbox 360’s original shipment included the Media Remote control’s cut-down version; however it was removed from all of the later shipments. On the other hand, the Elite Xbox 360 package was later launched at four hundred and seventy nine dollars, and during October of 2007, the Arcade 360 replaced the Core Xbox 360 at two hundred and seventy nine dollars.

The Core 360

The Core 360 was basically a gaming console at entry level. The Core gaming console isn’t being sold any longer; it has been replaced by the Arcade gaming console. In Japan, it wasn’t originally available; however it was released later on the 2nd of November, 2006. The operating system for the core comes bundled with some composite video cables that are capable of only resolutions for SDTV, although the newer models with the lot number 0728 or greater have an HDMI output of 1.2.

The Arcade Version

The Arcade version of the gaming console was the replacement for the Core version of the gaming console and it was revealed publicly by Robbie Bach the president of Microsoft’s Entertainment Devices division on the 18th of October, 2007 to the Financial Times, and then it was officially announced on the 22nd of October, 2007. This package included two hundred and fifty six MB memory unit, a wireless controller, 5 live titles, and a composite AV cable.

The original gaming stations which is commonly referred to as pro or Premium, includes all of the features that are included with the Core version and it also includes a hybrid composite along with a component cable.
